Work Placement is an integral component of our programs offering the students ‘real-life’ experience for a semester. The work placement in the Creative Media and Information Technology and Computing Departments allows students to engage in a wide variety of work that offers them a real insight into their chosen field:

Creative Media Entrepreneurs – teams of creative media consultants are established that take on in real-life industry projects: Industry Placement – working in industry in a variety of specialist areas ie TV, Film and New Media Broadcasting, Music Technology, Writing Content for Digital Media, Multimedia, Graphic Design, Animation, Video-Motion Graphics, Social Media, Web Technologies, Administration, Management (Collabor8@ITT)

Students get the opportunity to stay locally on work placement or travel the world. We currently have work placement students working in London, Scotland, Turkey, Spain, Finland, US.
The Departments deliver a number of modules with the support of local industry and training bodies. We collaborate with Kerry Education Services http://www.kerryetb.ie in a number of new initiatives i.e. Principals Returning to School/Video/Audio Training for Teachers/Supporting Teachers with Digital Media/Provision of Music Recording Studio.

Collabor8@ITT is a new initiative by the Department of Computing in the Institute of Technology, Tralee through which we aim to enhance our engagement with local Technology Industries.
