What is a Smart Card / tCard
The Institute of Technology, Tralee has implemented a smart card (called the tCard) system for a number of key services within the Institute. Initially the printing & photocopying services will be card based whereby students will use their smart cards to pay for any documents printed or photocopied. Students will transfer money from their bank account to the smart card rather than adding value to the card via cash revalue machines. This smart card will replace the old Student Identify Card as the Offical ID of the Institue.

How do I activate my card?
As soon as you receive your card it is ready for use.
Can my card be used by anyone else?
Your TCard is for your personal use only. It is against Institute regulations to loan it to anyone.
What if my card is stolen or lost?
If your TCard is lost or stolen, it should be reported immediately to the Academic Affairs Office (066-7145638 or internal on Ext: 5638). You will be responsible for all charges to the card until the card is reported missing. A replacement card will be issued by the Academic Affairs Office and will incur a replacement fee.
How can I take care of my tCard?
How do I deposit funds onto my TCard?
When you receive your TCard you will automatically be issued with a card account. All value will be stored on your own personal tCard account providing for greater security.
Depositing money onto your TCard account is very quick and easy. You can use any of the following options to deposit money on it.
Mobile App
By transferring money directly on your smart phone using the "TCard" app from the relevant app store.
Online Top-Up
Online top-ups to your smart card can be made with a credit card or debit/laser card on https://tcard.ittralee.ie available if the above method cannot be used for whatever reason. This is done by depositing money with the Library on either campus. Please note that the top-up amount may take a little longer to credit to your tCard account than the above method.
