IT Tralee (ITT) hosted its first ever Health Research Seminar in collaboration with the University Hospital Kerry (UHK) on Wednesday 7th September in the Sólás Building, North Campus, IT Tralee. The event included presentations from over 20 ITT and UHK researchers showcasing the health research on-going across the 3 Schools in IT Tralee and in University Hospital Kerry. The theme of the event was to identify synergistic research areas and inspire new collaborations between ITT and UHK researchers. Dr Colman Casey (Director - Health Innovation Hub Ireland) delivered the opening keynote address.
The event was attended by over 70 researchers form both organisations including: Ms Maria Godley (CEO - University Hospital Kerry), Dr Claire O'Brien (Research Advisory Committee Chair - University Hospital Kerry) and Dr. Siobhan Mac Sweeney (Head of Research - IT Tralee) who said ‘It was amazing to hear about so much phenomenal health research on-going within our neighbouring sites. The synergies between many focus areas were laid bare and we were delighted to see contact details being exchanged throughout the day. We look forward to building on today’s success and supporting future research developments between ITT and UHK’
